My Grandad was such a character. Not the typical Grandad. He made all his Grandchildren laugh so much. Him and Nanny used to argue non stop, but they loved each other dearly in their own little way. Grandad was known as nutty to all his friends or nut. Not because he was nutty, but because of his surname. You may remember years ago people used to say "mind your nut" meaning mind your head.
The stories Grandad told us were crazy and to be honest most of them were true, like the time he was on the news because his crane fell into the Thames.
He used to teach us grandchildren very funny songs, but alot of them were quite naughty and I remember the one about the fish Soles. What a wonderful fish a sole is. In the song it says are soles, which when sung sounds quite rude.
Grandad was a big fella and when he became ill he lost so much weight over the years. He never lost his sense of humour though.
He believed in Fairies and Goblins and Elves and said they used to play in his garden. Maybe that is where I get the love of Fairies.
He wanted a happy song at his funeral and he chose "wish me luck as you wave me goodbye." I love the song, but it also makes me very sad as well.
I love you very much Grandad and we all miss you tremondously.

8 years of missing you
Hi Grandad, happy angel day to you. Mummy went to the crem today. I was unable to go today, but have been thinking of you has usual. I miss you so much now and it doesnt get any easier really. I know you are here with me though. I have had the words tattooed on my back to go with the shell now. All that you are is all that I am. Your body was just a shell
Your soul and memories live on
It is a tribue to you and to remind our family that you may not be here in person, but you are an angel looking over us and I cannot see you, but I can feel you.

Hi Grandad, I know, so sorry for neglecting your memorial. I think about you daily, but have not visited the site for some time. Today I was going to cut the grass and the lawn mower finally gave up on me. I know it was reminding me to say hello. I cherished that lawn mower. You let me use it before you passed over and said to keep it. I still have your cap and your glasses though. I really miss you Grandad and wish I could talk directly to you. My heart holds fond memories of you and I know that you are always there when I need you. Love you and miss you Grandad xxxx
Waiting for Nanny
Hi Grandad,
You know Nanny isnt well. She has had a couple of falls and has a serious water infection. She is now hallucinating. She is seeing flowers on the ceiling and straw on the floor.
Please watch over her. I know you are really.
I just dont want her to suffer any pain.
Do what you can please Grandad and dont be afraid to come take her away with you. We will miss her, but we will know that she is in safe hands.

It is me again. Trouble. Your little Mia. I wish you was here for me to talk to. You always turned a bad situation into a giggle for us. We could never be sad or angry for long whilst you was in the room. I miss you so very much Grandad and I know you are here with me and when I talk to you and ask you for help you always hear me.

Grandad, 7 years is far too long to be without you. I so miss you and your funny little poems, stories and jokes.
Nanny is doing fine. She is such a strong lady. I never thought she would go on for this long. I know you are watching over her and I know that through all the ups and downs that you truely loved each other.
